Superior Marinas Scholarship

The Marina Industries Association of Australia (MIAA) is pleased to announce the Superior Marinas inaugural scholarship. The scholarship recognises the importance of education within the marine industry. It has been established by the MIAA with the aim of rewarding the successful candidate who has the competence and skills that are so highly valued in the marine industry.

The scholarship will cover all costs (travel excluded) of attending the next Marine Workshop & Service Managers Program in Australia. (13 - 16 July 2009).

All candidates will need meet the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate a commitment & service to the industry through a minimum of 5 years of marine service industry experience.
  • At least 3 of the 5 years have been in a leadership role.
  • Must be a current financial member of MIAA either directly, or as an employee of an MIAA member.
  • Commitment to personal education, training and accreditation.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and industry representation.

To apply for the oppportunity of being awarded the Superior Marinas Scholarship, fund applications need be submitted in writing to the Board of Management of the MIAA on or before 5:00 pm Friday 5th June 2009. The application must include:

  • Candidate background.
  • Statement of marine industry experience.
  • A statement describing future plans for service in the industry.
  • List of all relevant qualifications and certificates.
  • Provide two professional referees.
