Straddle Carrier Operations and Maintenance

In presenting this program, the Marina Industries Association Australia (MIAA) seeks to assist people working in marine service & boat yards explore and understand all facets of straddle carrier operations and maintenance.

This is a two day intensive course, with one day theory and one day practical boat lift demonstrations.

Who should attend?

People currently employed in a boatyard or marine service centre, or with potential to fill such a role, and who wish to advance their knowledge and skills in the operation and maintenance of a straddle carrier.

Faculty

Professional trainers from the marine industry and Certified Marina Mangers (CMM)

Content

  • Occupational health and safety
  • Straddle carrier checklists and maintenance log
  • Sling safety
  • Wire rope safety
  • Basic hand signals for operations
  • Lifting procedures for vessels up to 100 tonnes
  • Standing and blocking a vessel

*Participants will receive a certificate of completion for this course.

Fee includes : all tuition, course binder, morning and afternoon tea and lunch.
